What is Cremation

Cremation is a disposition option in which the deceased is cremated in the days immediately following death, without a funeral service beforehand. Usually, a memorial service is held either pre or post-cremation.

Cremation is not so common in the African continent but it is a now a practice that some prefer for different reasons, like: it gives a prompt and dignified service, it is the most cost effective method of disposition and it requires less planning and resources especially that the family members are or live far away, and it is also flexible and easy to personalize in terms of memorial service, disposition of the remains.
